Personal Info
I am a life long resident of Lawrence having graduated from Lawrence High School in 1971 and from KU in 1978 with a bachelor's degree in Music Theory (with an emphasis on piano performance).
After a short break from school working and traveling, I came back to Lawrence in 1981, and began learning how to tune and repair pianos. However, it was at this time that I discovered computers and computer programming and eventually went back to KU and earned a Master's degree in Computer Science in 1988.
Though I didn't work on pianos or tune professionally for many years, I did work on and tune my own piano (a 1917 Chickering) which set the stage for my deciding to start tuning professionally in 2007. I have been doing that since.
I currently tune many pianos in the Lawrence area, including the stage pianos at several venues (the Lawrence Arts Center being one of them).
Working on pianos is extremely rewarding for me and I intend on doing this for many years to come!
